The primary role of the Commission is to ensure that Proposition 10 resources are used as intended. In order to accomplish its goals and desired outcomes for families, the Commission invests in programs and activities that are consistent with the local priorities identified in the RECENTLY RELEASED 2015-2020 Strategic Plan.
Butte Baby Steps (BBS) is a Commission-funded intensive home visiting program serving families of vulnerable expectant and new mothers age 24 or under, living in South Butte County. BBS was designed based on the Healthy Families America (HFA) model – a nationally recognized evidence-based home visiting program model designed to work with overburdened families who are at-risk for adverse childhood experiences, including child maltreatment.
