“I am proud to share that I have been in recovery for 9 years. I learned about the work of First 5 when I received parenting education services through Children’s Services. My daughter, Larissa, and I are the proud graduates of the PEER (Parent Education Experiential Resource) Program, which was funded by First 5 at that time. The services were so important and so helpful that I decided I wanted to give back to my community in some way. So I applied to become a First 5 Commissioner.”
“My advice for young parents would be to always strive to do what’s right and never give up before the miracle occurs. There’s lots of resources out there. Make use of all the great resources in our community!”
